Jerry Mahony

Jerry Mahony (born 1956) is a former British auto racing driver. His most famous racing moment came when he won his debut race, in the first round of the 1988 British Touring Car Championship at Silverstone in a Ford Sierra RS500 for the Arquati Racing Team. He finished the year second in Class A and seventh overall in the championship.[1] A less successful year followed in 1989 where he finished down in forty-first place.[2] After he retired from racing, Mahony was still involved with the BTCC, by driving the safety car in 2001.

He was the Managing Director of a corporate entertainment company, that was involved with the Vic Lee Racing Team. In 2005 Vic Lee pleaded guilty to drug trafficking offences relating to cocaine with a street value of £1.7 million. For his involvement in the case, Mahony was sentenced to eleven years in prison.[3][4]
